The journey with my skin continues…
I am in constant inquiry over what messages and lessons it has for me. Why is it here? What opportunities does it have for me? How is it a gift instead of a curse?
My friend Jenna Hillier and I jumped on a call for a candid conversation about our skin journey’s. In this video, we speak about:
- the mind-body connection
- what acne is a manifestation of
- connecting to our truth
- hearing the voice of our heart
- having courage
- our health as a reflection of our beliefs
- embracing the journey
- trusting our path
- loving all that is and all of who we are
There is no one-size-fits-all “fix” to any health issue. I see my skin condition as a full picture expression. And I am taking a holistic approach to it. I see stress as the root. Stress can come from many places. Physically, the body may be stressed from diet, hormones, toxicity, chemical sensitivities, and infections. Mentally and emotionally, stress can be coming from the list below.
The Emotional/Mental Root Causes of Acne:
- inner torment- anger, judgment, resistance, frustration
- a raging battle within
- inner vs. out beauty
- hiding and holding back
- conflicts over sexuality
Through my health journey over the years, what I know to be true is this:
Embracing the journey and loving all parts of who you are is THE best medicine. It is key to healing. Love the part that is angry. Love the part that feels helpless. Love the part that wants to give up. Love all of you going through this experience.
Find the sweet spot of accepting and surrendering to what is, and also taking action. Seek guidance and support. Take the supplements. Do the tests. Hire the help. Just do it holding yourself in your own loving.
Shift from questioning to trusting, fixing to honoring, fighting to listening, doing to being, judging to loving, thinking to feeling, frustration to patience.
You are not alone. You are not broken. This is not happening to you, it is happening for you. It is a beautiful journey.
